Starting a Small Blog to Get Unstuck

Recently I’ve been feeling stuck in a really quiet way (nothing crazy).I had energy but nowhere to put it. I kept waiting for a good idea or motivation to hit... So I tried something simple: I Read a couple books about creativity and decided to just start writing something, since everybody is telling us it is good to do so. This blog isn’t meant to be serious. I’m not posting on Medium or trying to grow anything. I just want a small place I can come back to and see how my thinking changes over time.

Why I Started Writing

The first book that helped was Steal Like an Artist. It reminded me that creativity isn’t about being original, it’s about paying attention, collecting ideas, and making them your own and making something out of them. One thing that stuck with me is how important it is to keep a small notebook with you, so at anytime u can log your random ideas or others ideas, that come to you through out the day. It feels more real, and it makes ideas easier to keep instead of losing them 10 minutes later especially if u can make a small sketch.

Get Off the Screen and Chill

Another big reminder from the book was that it’s completely fine to have hobbies that don’t make you money. Not everything has to become a side hustle. Sometimes you just need something you enjoy, especially for me since i am a 22 year old guy what is on my mind all the time is how can i be independent money wise and "How to make it". So I’m trying to rebuild that mindset: create things because they’re fun, because they’re interesting, because they make life feel less repetitive.

The War of Art and the Idea of Resistance

The second book The War of Art did not really stick to me that much, other than giving me a burst of motivation do just go out that day and have a good workout. It talks about Resistance, that invisible force that shows up as procrastination, overthinking etc. And the scary part is that everyone has his own Resistance. The book made me realize I don’t need to wait until I feel ready. I just need to start, even if it’s messy.

What I Want This Blog to Be

For now, this blog is my small online notebook. A place to collect thoughts and ideas and a place to yap a lot. But right now, the goal is simple: show up and write something.
